Thanksgiving is almost here, and I have been busy preparing in advance for our Thanksgathering. The holidays definitely bring out the craftiness in me. Thankfully, I can rely on a variety of SC Johnson products to help clean up my mess in the craft room and in the kitchen. The holiday season is a big deal in our home. From the food, to the preparation, to the wonderful time spent with family, Thanksgiving is just as it says – a time to give thanks. This year’s Thanksgiving dinner will be small, but I still love to go all-out when it comes to the food and decor.

To help make my family’s Thanksgathering a success, I use the following SC Johnson products:

Glade® Apple Cinnamon 3.4oz Candle – I love the smell of a fragrant candle. It is so welcoming. A Glade® Apple Cinnamon 3.4oz Candle fills the room with hints of apples and cinnamon. It is a perfect way to refresh your home and make guests feel welcomed. I add the candle to my table centerpiece by repurposing an outdoor lantern and a wreath that I no longer use.

Pledge® 9.7oz MultiSurface – Antibacterial – Whether I am cleaning up my counter or my craft area, Pledge® 9.7oz Multisurface – Antibacterial helps me clean and protect my kitchen and work spaces.

Windex® 26 oz Original Glass Cleaner –  I use Windex® Original Glass Cleaner to wipe down my appliances and surfaces after a busy day in the kitchen. It is perfect for so many of the surfaces throughout the home including windows, mirrors, sealed granite and marble, glass shower doors, chrome bathroom fixtures, lucite, tile, plastic, vinyl, aluminum, and more.

A DIY Monogrammed Fall Table Runner is an easy way to add a personal touch to your Thanksgiving Table. Burlap is a hot trend right now. By using a piece of pre-cut burlap that I found at a craft store, I was able to give my dining room table the rustic farmhouse look I love.

  • Monogram Stencil
  • Leaf Stencil
  • Filigree Stencil
  • Acrylic Paint (Brown, Yellow, Red, Green, Orange & White)
  • Paint brushes or pouncers
  • Painters Tape
  • 2 Pieces of Lace to fit the width of the runner
  • Iron
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Paper Plate

Start by ironing your runner so it lays flat and is free of wrinkles. Find the center and align the filigree stencil about an inch from the bottom edge of the burlap. Use a few pieces of painters tape to secure the stencil in place. Pour some brown paint onto a paper plate. Dip your brush in the brown paint. Dab some off and then start dabbing the stencil. When the stencil is filled in to your liking, remove. Now, center the monogram over the filigree and repeat the stencil process. To make the fall leaf, add some red, orange, yellow and green paint in a cluster on your paper plate. Position the leaf on the side of the stamped monogram letter. Tape to secure. Dip brush in the center of the paint cluster so all four colors are on the brush. Dab paint over the leaf stencil to achieve a desired fall look. Repeat this on the other side of the monogram so the leaves match. You can go back and add more of one color to each leaf if you want. Be sure to let the paint dry completely before beginning the other side.

When I finished the stenciling, the runner was missing something. Luckily I had some extra lace left from an old project, so I decided to add it to each edge. Since sewing is not my forte, I glued a piece of lace to the edge of each side of the burlap.
