I love the idea of recycling jars for other purposes. Halloween is right around the corner, so I thought it would be cute to make these fun Halloween Treat Jars. They make perfect little gifts for family and friends. Creating them is super simple and requires very little craftiness! It’s the perfect craft to make with kids too. Give them some paint, and let them paint the faces of the ghosts and pumpkins. Starbucks Frappuccino jars (the ghosts) and pesto jars (the pumpkins) were the perfect shapes for this project, but you can use any shape or size of jar you want.
Here is what you need to make your own Halloween Treat Jars:
♦ Jars, any shape and size you like
♦ White Spray Paint
♦ Orange Spray Paint
♦ Green Spray Paint
♦ Black Multi-Surface Paint
♦ Card Stock for Tags
♦ Halloween Stamps
♦ Ribbon or Twine
To begin, I simply spray painted the OUTSIDE of each tall jar white. Do not spray paint the inside because it will not be food safe. Make sure to coat the lids well too. Spray paint the smaller jars orange.
Spray paint the lids of the orange jars green.
After the jars are dry, you can decorate them using black multi-surface paint. Make sure you use multi-surface paint so it adheres to the glass.
While the jars are drying, I used a festive pumpkin stamp to create the tag for each jar. I stamped and double mounted each tag. Don’t forget to punch a small hole in each tag for the ribbon.
