Coconut Cream Pie Recipe

You can’t go wrong with a slice of this traditional Coconut Cream Pie. This pie recipe has a creamy coconut custard filling topped with sweet whipped cream.

Ingredients

– pie shell – sugar – cornstarch – half and half – egg yolks  Swipe up for full list of ingredients

Step 1

Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan. Mix with a wooden spoon.

Whisk half and half and the egg yolks together in a medium mixing bowl. Gradually whisk into the sugar and cornstarch mixture. Bring to boil over medium heat.

Remove from heat. Add the flavorings, butter and one cup of toasted coconut. Mix together and pour hot filling in the baked pie shell. Cover with plastic wrap and cool for one hour.

Step 4

When pie is cool, top with whipped cream.
