Apple Cheese Puffs

Apple Cheese Puffs are sweet, buttery and crispy. Filled with a sweet apple and cheese filling, these simple pastry puffs are easy to make too.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry dough thawed
  • 3 large apples diced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • Pinch salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Coarse Sprinkling Sugar

Instructions

  1. <span class="mceItemHidden" data-mce-bogus="1"><span></span>Preheat oven to 400 degrees.</span>
  2. Thaw one piece of puff pastry dough, according to package instructions.
  3. Peel and dice 3 large apples and place in a medium bowl. Mix in the flour, sugars, cinnamon and pinch of salt. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, add cream cheese, confectioners sugar and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
  5. Unroll puff pastry sheet and cut it into six equal pieces.
  6. Add a heaping tablespoon of the cream cheese filling in the center, followed by a tablespoon of the apples.
  7. Place on a lined baking sheet
  8. Fold each corner over towards the center. Brush the each corner and top of puffs with egg.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar.
  10. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
