Alice's Timepiece Necklace

I’m not sure if you have heard or not, but Alice is heading back to Wonderland. Yep, this means one thing…..Johnny Depp will be reprising his role as The Mad Hatter. You just may have heard me jumping up and down when I found that out. Disney and Johnny Depp – just two of my favorite things. ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS opens in theaters everywhere on May 27, 2016! This time, Alice is heading back to save the Mad Hatter. My head is spinning with so many great Disney movies coming out this coming year.

In anticipation for heading back down the rabbit hole with Alice on her quest to rescue The Mad Hatter, I made this really easy Alice In Wonderland-inspired necklace. So, to get the madness started, Alice’s Timepiece Necklace may just help keep her on time and on task, don’t you think? After all, saving The Mad Hatter, is only a matter of time.

To make this versy simple jewelry piece (which my 17 year old daughter already claimed for herself), you will need and Empty Pocket Watch , some watch gears, some miniature bobbles, a metal timepiece, scrapbook paper, word stickers and a metal ball chain.

Begin by cutting a circle of scrapbook paper to fit inside the pocket watch. You can either buy antique-looking scrapbook paper, or do it yourself. I simply dabbed a sponge on a brown ink pad. I gently sponged the scrapbook circle from the outside in. This will give it an aged effect.

I did the same to the words too. Now, place a dab of rubber cement on the back of the scrapbook circle and place inside the open pocket watch. I then added the words “Time Adventure” (because it’s always an adventure when you’re with the mad hatter…in Wonderland). Now place your time piece over top followed by the watch gears and any bobbles you wish to add.

Did I mention how easy this piece of jewelry is to make? Seriously, I think it took a total of 10 minutes from start to finish.

In the upcoming movie, we even get to meet Time himself, a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock. What do you think Time will think about Alice’s new necklace? I guess only time will tell.

Now to find the perfect outfit to wear this with, that is if I can get it back from my daughter.
