Framed Burlap Witch Art
Add some bewitching fun to your Halloween decor. This simple Framed Burlap Witch Art is an easy fall DIY project to make.
Halloween is not too far away and things are getting a little bewitching around here. Which gets me kind of excited because Halloween is such a fun time of year. Last week, I created this fun Farmed Burlap Witch Art to display at home. This DIY project is super simple and super inexpensive to create. I recently saw a similar idea in a store and it was crazy expensive. So…..I created my own (and you can too!). I have a love-hate relationship with witches, but they are a necessary component to Halloween. It’s not Halloween without a witch or two flying around. Elphaba (a.k.a. The Wicked Witch of the West) scared the bejeezus out of me as a child. While I love The Wizard of Oz now, I still draw the line at flying monkies too. Witch Hazel, on the other hand, brings back many laughs of watching Bugs Bunny cartoons with my dad.
Here is what you need to create your own Framed Burlap Witch Art
- Witch Cut File
- Black Glitter Cardstock
- Newspaper Cardstock Paper
- 6″ x 8″ Piece of Burlap
- 8 x 10 Black Frame
- Spray Mount
Begin by using your Silhouette Cameo to cut out the witch onto the black glitter cardstock. If you do not have one, you can download, cut and trace the witch on your own.
Next, you will want to cut the newspaper cardstock to fit your 8 x 10 frame. Then cut a smaller piece of burlap (about 5″ x 7″ in size) to mount over top of the cardstock. I frayed the edges of the burlap for some extra detail.
Use the spray mount to “mount” the burlap to the newspaper cardstock. After that, mount the witch to the center of the burlap. Remove the glass from the frame and pop it in.
I love how this Burlap Witch Art turned out. I definitely think both Elphaba and Hazel would approve. What are some of your favorite Halloween decortions<
