So what is a Charcuterie Board?
A charcuterie board is essentially a meat and cheese board that consists of a variety of meats and cheese along with fruits, nuts, condiments and crackers. They contain a combination of different flavors and textures that equal the perfect no-fuss party snack.
May I have your attention please: do not be intimidated by these boards. They look fancy but are very easy to assemble. I promise. And I am going to share some tips on how to do it. I have a free printable you can download to walk you through each step.
These snack boards are fun to make for any holiday too. This one is a Valentine’s Day Charcuterie board. I added some chocolate covered strawberries and used heart bowls to enhance the Valentine theme. You can get creative with this and add colors that fit the holiday.
How to Build A Charcuterie Board
Here is what you need to make a Charcuterie Board. Don’t overthink the process. A rectangular or circular wooden cutting board or wooden turntable will work in creating this fun party idea.
The idea in creating a food board is to create color and texture that fits the holiday or event you are planning. Here are some ideas of what you can include.
- Charcuterie Board (Large Wooden Cutting Board or Large Wooden Turntable)
- Presentation Bowls
- Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
- Deli Meat (pictured ham and turkey)
- Cured meats
- An assortment of cheeses (pictured pepper jack and swiss)
- A variety of nuts (cashews pictured)
- Fruit (Apple & Grapes pictured)
- Crackers (Toasted Party Pack or any Cracker Trio)
- Chocolate, Caramel and or Cream Cheese Fruit Dip (store bought)
- Dried Fruit (Dried pineapple pictured)
- Olives and / or pickles
- Fresh cut vegetables
- Dips (sweet or savory) and / or hummus

How To Make An Easy Charcuterie Board
Roll the deli meat to add visual interest to your presentation. Cut the deli cheese into fourths and set aside.
Place Chocolate Covered Berries directly onto your board or in their own cupcake liner. Arrange the strawberries in a nice full presentation to serve as the board anchor.
Fill the presentation bowls with dips. Build up the crackers and cheeses next. Place the meat on the opposite side of the board with the fruit
Add in your fillers (fresh and dried fruit, plus nuts) The key to creating a robust and appealing board is to cover as much of the board as possible.

- Deli Sliced Cheeses (pictured pepper jack and swiss)
- Nuts (cashews pictured)
- Fruit (Apple & Grapes pictured)
- Crackers (Toasted Party Pack or any Cracker Trio)
- Chocolate, Caramel and or Cream Cheese Fruit Dip (store bought)
- Dried Fruit (Dried pineapple pictured)
Instructions
- Roll the deli meat to add visual interest to your presentation.
