Make Your Own Nutcracker Wreath
This whimsical Nutcracker Wreath is an easy DIY craft you can make to celebrate the Christmas Season.
Hello friends, I hope you had a great weekend. Christmas is t-minus 15 days away and I bet you all have been busy decking the halls and trimming the tree. I had a busy weekend at our farm helping customers with their holiday decorating needs. It is such a wonderful time of year with so much excitement in the air. If you are in a crafty mood, I have a whimsical Nutcracker Wreath idea for you. Each year, I try to share a Christmas Wreath project because they are so much fun to make. Last year’s Jolly Snowman Wreath was a big hit!
I like to collect nutcrackers in all shapes and sizes. They are a classic Christmas decoration symbolic of the gift Clara received in the Nutcracker Ballet. Fast forward to one of my many expeditions to the local craft store (I really need to contain myself better…LOL), I found a really neat rose gold nutcracker that just has to come home with me. Of course, I had a brilliant idea while shopping to create a wreath centered around him. So naturally, I added all the other baubles and bits needed to make a darling Christmas wreath. Also, when I think of The Nutcracker Ballet, I also think of the Sugar Plum Fairy, so I also added some sweet candy picks to enhance the theme.
Here is how to make your own Nutcracker Wreath
Supplies Needed:
- White Grapevine Wreath
- A Nutcracker
- Coordinating Christmas Picks
- Craft Wire
- Wire Cutter
- White Garland
Rose gold is a hot trend right now so I was so excited to find this guy. I wrapped part of the grapevine wreath with white garland just so it made the wreath a little fuller. Then, position the Nutcracker where you want on the wreath and secure with some wire.
Once the Nutcracker is placed, add the coordinating Christmas picks and flowers.
Keep building with the decorations by adding them around the Nutcracker until the wreath is nice and full.
Tis the season! Happy holiday crafting!
This is beautiful! Not sure how much garland you added to the grapevine wreath? Would love to see a tutorial
