Make Your Own Winnie The Pooh Pumpkin
Even our favorite tubby little cubby deserves his own pumpkin. Make Your Own Winnie The Pooh Pumpkin this Halloween.
I am taking a trip to the Hundred Acre Wood today to visit my old pal Winnie The Pooh. He is a childhood favorite of not only my kids but me. I mean who doesn’t love this adorable tubby little bear. So it’s only fitting that I give one of my favorite Disney characters his own Halloween Pumpkin. He fits in perfectly with all the other pumpkins in my Disney Inspired Pumpkin Ideas collection. Have any you want me to try to recreate? Send me a message and I will do my best. So as I said, I love Winnie The Pooh. This silly old bear has delighted generations of readers. AND, I even love to visit him at Walt Disney World, no surprise there.
I went on a craft store supply hunt (that’s a scary thought too, knowing how much damage I can do in a craft store) to find supplies to make the perfect Winnie The Pooh Pumpkin. I landed in the knitting aisle and found some thick red chenille yarn. Bam! That’s it. I also grabbed some yellow yarn for his ears and a few buttons for his shirt. I had yellow spray paint left over from the Toy Story Pumpkin so I was all set.
How To Make A Winnie The Pooh Pumpkin
Supplies
- Artificial Pumpkin
- Yellow Spray Paint or yellow acrylic paint
- Paint Tape
- Yellow Yarn
- Thick Red Chenille Yarn
- 2 Wood Buttons
- Scissors
- 2 Toilet Paper Holders
- 2 – 2″ cardboard round circles, cut out
- Glue Gun / Glue Sticks
Directions
Step 1
Mask out half of the pumpkin with the painters’ tape. Spray paint the bottom half yellow. Allow to dry completely.
Step 2
Use your glue gun to glue the red chenille around the top half of the pumpkin.
Step 3
Glue a pom pom to each side of the top of the pumpkin. These are his ears. See below for directions on how to make the pom poms.
Step 4
Use the glue gun to adhere his buttons to the bottom of his shirt.
To Make The Pom Pom Ears:
Step 1
Wrap the yellow yarn around two toilet paper holders 120 times. The more times you wrap, the thicker your pom poms will be.
Step 2
Tie a tight knot in the center around the entire pom pom. Remove from paper towel holders after you tie a know.
Step 3
Use your scissors to cut the loops on each side of the pom pom.
Step 4
Center one cardboard circle on the top of the pom pom, and one on the bottom. You are basically making a pom pom sandwich. Now trim around the circle to form your pom pom.
It should look something like this.
Oh bother, can you say adorable? Easy too. Happy fall! Happy Disney crafting!
