Pirate’s Booty Slime
I bet Captain Jack Sparrow will go crazy for this Pirate’s Booty Slime it has the perfect amount of gold and gems. Making slime is a fun craft activity for kids and adults. Savvy?
If you aren’t already aware, the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be released in just a few weeks – but who’s counting?
Slowly….raises…hand!
Yes, I admit, I am a bit Captain Jack Sparrow obsessed so I thought it would be fun to jump the bandwagon of another current phenomenon – SLIME! It’s all the rage. Be sure to check out this ultimate collection of Fun Slime Recipes here on the blog. I am sure you have seen a dozen or so tutorials on how to make it. It’s fun, it’s gooey and kids love it! Well, I love it too. But, I am a big kid at heart. I’ve been bitten by the slimming bug. This Pirate’s Booty Slime is filled with gold and gems. Two things that Captain Jack Sparrow or any swashbuckling pirate for that matter loves. So, to celebrate the upcoming release of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, why don’t you make a batch for the kids. It’s so simple…and fun…and gooey.
Here’s what you need to make Pirate’s Booty Slime:
- 1 cup Clear Elmer’s Glue
- 1/4 cup – 1/3 cup Liquid Starch
- Fine Gold Glitter
- Chunky Gold Glitter
- Assorted Gems & Small Pearl Beads
- Pirate Gold
Start by mixing the fine gold glitter into the clear glue. This helps to distribute the glitter evenly.
Now, add the liquid starch, a tablespoon at a time, into the glitter glue. Stir well after each pour of starch. Keep adding the starch until you find the perfect gooey consistency that you like. The more starch you add, the harder the slime will be.
Now, work in the gems. Add as little or many as you like.
If Captain Jack had any say in how this Pirate’s Booty Slime was made, I bet he would say the more gems the better.
Store the slime in an air-tight container when not in use. Do you like to make slime with your kids? What is your favorite recipe?
That looks pretty awesome!
Where did you purchase the pirate jewels for your slime??
You can find them on Amazon or any craft store.
I would like to make this with 20 kids. Is this a “recipe” for an “individual serving?”
My kids have been addicted to slime lately so, after the snow slime we’re making this weekend, I will be running to the craft store for add-ins so we can make this one, as well! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
So fun!
