Star Wars Princess Leia Pumpkin
The Force is strong with this DIY Star Wars Princess Leia Pumpkin. This pumpkin is perfect for the ultimate Star Wars fan!
I have to admit, I have been having so much fun creating all these Disney-inspired pumpkins. After I watched the latest Star Wars Trailer for The Last Jedi, the wheels started turning and I had to make a Star Wars-inspired pumpkin to add to my collection next. I knew I wanted to create Princess Leia because she is a princess. And I like princesses! Leia is also one of my favorite movie characters. She is no-nonsense. As I child, I was memorized by her beautiful buns. I would have my mom style my hair just like hers. As much as I stressed about how to create this pumpkin, I love the way she turned out. Sometimes simple is better and this pumpkin is just that…simple.
Here are the supplies you will need to make a Princess Leia Pumpkin for yourself.
- 9″ Craft Pumpkin
- White Paint or White Spray Paint
- 2 3″ Wood Discs
- Thick Brown Yarn
- White Decorative Ribbon
- Adhesive Rhinestones
- Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
After you paint your pumpkin white, you will need to cut 8 pieces for the brown yarn at 24 inches each piece. Tie them all together at the top and start to twist. Add a dab of glue to the wood disk. Now, twist and glue the yard in a circle to create Leia’s buns. Just make sure you cover your starting point. Don’t worry about the excess glue strings, you can use a hair dryer to take care of those.
I found this really cool white ribbon to represent the belt Leia wears. I added a few adhesive rhinestones to complete the look.
Use a pin to anchor the ribbon in the back of the pumpkin. Bring the ribbon to the front and cross it. You can secure with a dab of hot glue or a pin.
Glue the buns to each side of the pumpkin and there you have it! A simple Star Wars-inspired Princess Leia Pumpkin. Happy crafting!
And just in case you missed it, here is the latest trailer from The Last Jedi.
