Christmas Tree Ornament Art
Make it Shine This Holiday Season With The Simple DIY Christmas Tree Ornament Art.
I love crafting for the holidays. Each year I try to add at least one homemade Christmas project to my holiday decor. I have a slight addiction to the craft store. As soon as I walk in the door, I find myself piling items in my cart. I made it a point this year to make sure I used up any Christmas items I purchased on sale last year before I stepped foot in the craft store this holiday season. So, once I determined that I had an excessive amount of small Christmas tree ornaments and letter tiles, I created this simple DIY Christmas Tree Ornament Art. The red, gold and green shimmery ornaments go perfectly with my holiday decor.
Supplies needed to make this Christmas Tree Ornament Art
- Wooden Pallet (11.88 x 15.88 inches)
- Silver Chalk Paint
- Cream Chalk Paint
- Crackle Finish
- Small Red Bow
- Assorted Small Plastic Ornaments
- Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- Letter Tiles
Start by applying two coats of the silver chalk paint to the pallet. Allow each coat to dry. Then, apply the crackle finish according to the directions on the bottle. Once dry, apply a top coat of cream chalk paint.
I centered and glued the bow at the top of the pallet first. This will help in the placement of the ornaments. Now you can lay out the ornaments and glue. Make sure to leave at least three inches at the bottom of the pallet for the letter tiles.
I then glued the words PEACE, NOEL and JOY to the bottom row of the ornament tree. This makes it look like a flower pot. You can certainly customize the words any way you want. Same goes with the color of the ornaments.
This is such a fun and easy project. If there is are strings of hot glue scattered about, don’t worry. Simply take a hairdryer to them and they will remove easily. Nothing too complicated about gluing ornaments onto a wooden pallet. It goes perfectly with our holiday decor too! Bonus points for me for using up some old holiday decor. Now I can hit the floor running to the craft store to stock up again!
Happy Holiday Crafting!
I love these ideas, but I’d get in trouble for robbing the Scrabble game! LOL!! I adore Christmas decorations. Thanks for sharing.
