“It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…” That’s one of my favorite Christmas songs that I happen to enjoy twice a year. Once when school starts (yes, I am like the mom in the Staples commercial) and again beginning November 1, when I officially turn the Christmas music on. My house has been decked out for several weeks now. I love getting a head start on the Christmas season so I can enjoy it to the max. Today, I wanted to share with your 8 Simple Holiday Decorating Tips.
Holiday decorating doesn’t have to be a chore. Turn on some festive Christmas music and make it fun. Do a little dancing in between too. You can utilize these idea practically anywhere in your home. I used them to decorate a console table in my great room. Today , I am teaming up with Shutterfly to share with you these tips.

- Bring the outside in. I painted some birch branches I found in my yard white and placed them in a red vase. It also added a nice contrast. Go on a scavenger hunt in your yard. 2. If you are like me, you probably have a lot of extra ornaments that won’t fit on the tree. Utilize them by filling up a glass vase. I like to add a personal touch to my decorations, so I included a Shutterfly ornament card as part of the decor. Cards aren’t just for mailing. You can create really unique holiday garlands and wreaths with them too.
3. Add a homemade wreath. I love to make wreaths. I have them strategically placed throughout my home. They are really easy to create. You just need some supplies and you can let your creativity take charge. Here is a basic tutorial that you can tailor for the Christmas season.
4. Add a personal touch. Incorporate family photos and Christmas cards. I just love this personalized pillow from Shutterfly. It is a home accent that I will treasure. Especially since my kids are getting so big.
5. Stick with a color scheme or theme. For this area, I tried to bring some natural touches as well as some Christmas reds.

8. Repurpose existing decor. I used the red vase seen about and filled with berries and branches. This vase usually hangs out on my buffet all year long. Another cool trend is to fill outdoor lanterns with greens and lights. That is another fun way to utilize decor you would normally store away for the winter.
