Cruising Into Summer In The 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature AWD.

Hello summer! Are you as excited as I am that summer is officially here? I had the opportunity to usher in this wonderful season by test driving a 2017 Mazda CX-9. Summer for my family is a bit unconventional. Since we live and work on our family farm, summer is an extremely busy time for us. While we don’t get to vacation in the summer like most families, we definitely make the best of it by taking a lot of day trips to the Jersey Shore. Lucky for us it is a short 40-minute drive from our home.

This was my first experience driving a Mazda and it was a great one. The Mazda CX-9 Signature model is a mid-size crossover SUV that packed full of upgrades and sportiness. With three-row seating for seven, it can definitely pull its weight with hauling people and things. How do you like the aubern color interior? Sweet, isn’t it!!

This mid-size crossover SUV really didn’t feel like an SUV at all. It drove like a champ and even had a really cool sport mode for some extra kick thanks to the Skyactiv-F 2.5T Turbo Engine. This hands down was the coolest feature for me! Flip the switch into sport mode and this baby hade plenty of get up and go!

The center dash houses the MAZDA CONNECT™infotainment system for the navigation system, rearview camera, radio and bluetooth / phone. It reminds me of a small tablet. You can control the radio from the center console. I did find searching for the radio channels a little different than I am used to on my current vehicle.

The driver’s side dash and steering wheel is also fully equipped with a lot of bells and whistles. Two features that I really liked were the push button start and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The Mazda CX-9 is available in four models. The Signature AWD model which I test drove is priced at approximately $44,000. It averages 23 MPG.
