Walt Disney World is open, but it’s still too early for a lot of people who are concerned about the pandemic or just don’t want to visit the parks with so many of the current drawbacks. If you are a Disney fan, but you can’t go to the parks yet, try this list of virtual Disney attractions you can watch from home.
Virtual Disney Attractions You Can Watch From Home
Virtual Disney Attractions: Radiator Springs Racers
When World of Motion was replaced by Test Track in 1999 It caused the same sort of controversy, you can typically expect. That ride has changed since opening day, but its best version is arguably Radiator Springs Racers in a completely different park 2,500 miles away. It’s the same attraction, loaded with scenery, story, and memorable characters. The racing element and the multiple rides experiences makes it even more exciting.
Virtual Disney Attractions: Splash Mountain
The arrival of Splash Mountain to Disneyland in 1989 was part of a string of fresh new and innovative attractions. It’s also one of Disney’s strangest paradoxes. Based on a movie they refuse to acknowledge Splash Mountain has not just survived, It’s been a beloved fixture of 3 out of 6 parks worldwide. The story immersion of this attraction is hard to beat, which makes it a fun video to watch. Especially since Disney plans to replace the attraction with the Princess and the Frog.
Virtual Disney Attractions: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
The newest Disney attraction, this high energy Mickey Mouse themed dark ride pulls out all the stops. It’s inspired by the Emmy winning Mickey Shorts and takes guests on a madcap adventure through a series of recognizable show scenes from the series. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened just prior to the closure of Walt Disney World in March. Now that the parks are reopened, it has consistently the longest wait in the entire resort. With this 360 video, you can see the whole experience from every angle.
Virtual Disney Attractions: The Jungle Cruise
The newest and most technologically advanced rides are cool to see. Especially, if you don’t want to wait until the next time you are finally able to make it out to the parks. Sometimes though, the best way to relive old memories is to go vintage. The Jungle Cruise never gets old and it’s got a nostalgic effect that you can’t help but enjoy. The Jungle Cruise is a Disney staple. Even though it has seen so many redesigns since opening day, it is full of the same charm and humor that we identify with Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.
Virtual Disney Attractions: Pirates of the Caribbean
The Pirates of the Caribbean marks a turning point in Disney Imagineering. When it opened, it was the most ambitious attraction to date. It still has pull among park fans. It was so popular at Disneyland that when Walt Disney World opened in 1971, guests were shocked that it didn’t make the cut. Rather than do a retread of the same ride, Disney was working on a similar but different ride based on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Instead, Disney listened to fans and built a last-minute version of Pirates of the Caribbean instead. The Disneyland version is still the best, with the bayou scene opening up the story.
