Step 1:
Start by turning the pot onto Saute. Add ground beef, onions and seasonings. Cook until beef is no longer pink and cooked through.
Step 2:
Remove the pot and drain the grease off of the ground beef. You can also soak up the excess grease with a paper towel.
Step 3:
Add the beef broth and potatoes to the pot. Give a quick stir then place the lid on. Set the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 10 minutes. When time is up, do a quick release.
Step 4:
Turn the Instant Pot back to sauté mode. In a medium bowl, combine the milk and corn starch. Whisk until smooth, then pour the mixture into the Instant Pot. When the soup begins to simmer, turn off the Instant Pot. Stir in the shredded cheese one handful at a time, stirring between each addition.

Instant Pot Cheeseburger Soup

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup corn starch
- 2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese (or shredded Monterey jack cheese)
- Green onions and bacon bits for topping
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to sauté and add the ground
beef and onions. Cook until the ground beef is almost completely browned, then add the minced garlic, parsley, black pepper, and salt. Continue sautéing until beef is cooked through. - Turn off Instant Pot and soak up excess fat with
a paper towel. - Add the beef broth and potatoes, stir to
combine. - Set the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 10
minutes. When the cook time is up, do a quick release. - Turn the Instant Pot back to sauté mode. In a
medium bowl, combine the milk and corn starch. Whisk until smooth, then pour the mixture into the Instant Pot. When the soup begins to simmer, turn off the Instant Pot. - Stir in the shredded cheese one handful at a
time, stirring between each addition. - Serve soup topped with green onions, additional
shredded cheese and bacon bits (optional).

Question: I made a double batch last night and left to cool & forgot. It was on the counter in air tight containers from roughly 7pm-3am before it went in the fridge. Safe if we re-heat 10+ minutes or trash?
