I think by now, you all know that I love to visit Walt Disney World…a lot! It definitely is my happy place. I love that one resort has so much fun to offer families from the four parks, world-class resorts, delicious food and exciting entertainment. No one does it like Disney when it comes to making their guests feel welcome. There is so much to experience in the parks, and that is what I love most about Walt Disney World. There is always a chance to learn something new or see something you may not have known about. The most important thing is to have FUN! It’s Disney, after all!
On the flip side, a Disney vacation can be overwhelming if not planned properly. Walt Disney World is a huge resort. The parks are very large and entail a lot of walking. Add the hot Florida weather into the mix and your vacation could be less than magical. I am all about comfort when visiting the parks. Dressing comfortably will make a world of difference when you are walking miles and miles around the parks. Following these practical Keys To Comfort When Visiting Walt Disney World will help to make your family vacation memorable, magical and full of pixie dust.
Nine Keys To Comfort When Visiting Walt Disney World
Ultimate Comfort Starts With The Basics. Undergarments – yes, undergarments. We are a Hanes family. Their products from t-shirts to socks to underwear and bras help to keep us cool and comfortable during those busy (and often hot) Disney days. I live in a house with two men…two sometimes stinky men. With the new FreshIQTM Advanced Odor Protection Technology in its line of men’s underwear, socks, T-shirts and fleece products, I no longer have to worry about that man-stank. Hello happiness!
Wear comfortable shoes. I always say that Disney can provide miles and miles of smiles, but not if your feet hurt. Lots of walking calls for comfortable sneakers or sandals. I am amazed when I see people walking around the parks in high heels.
Wear light colored clothing. Light clothing will keep you much cooler in the hot Florida sun.
Lather up! Make sure you protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. The hot Florida sun can be brutal. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen before you leave for the parks. Reapply sunscreen throughout the day too. Don’t ruin your family vacation with a nasty sunburn. That’s definitely not very magical.
Wear a hat or pull hair up. Keep the sun out of your face with a nice hat. It will keep you cooler and protect your face too from the sun. If you have long hair, pull it up and out of your face.
Wear Shades. I can’t go anywhere without my sunglasses. Sunglasses shield your eyes from the sun and help prevent those wrinkles we get from squinting.
Bring a backpack. Carry a light backpack with all the essentials like sunscreen, wipes, hand sanitizer, and band-aids. Frees up hands and carries all your stuff. Try not to make it too heavy.
Start your park day early. If it is a very hot day, visit the park early in the morning when it is cooler. Take a break mid-day when the sun is hot and the crowds are large. Throughout the day, find a shady area to sit, visit an indoor attraction or head back to your resort for a rest.
Drink plenty of water. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Bring a water bottle and drink consistently during the day. Did you know that if you stop at any of the quick serve food stations, you can get a free cup of water to refill your bottle too? Yep. Water saves the day.

I liked Disneyworld, even though we live closer to Disneyland
Disneyland is my favorite. I haven’t been there in years though.
I have only been to Disneyland, so that is my favorite.
I like the Magic Kingdom
We visit Disney every year, not kidding. One of the best things I found is the first aid area. They have everything if you have an emergency. Bandaids, Imodium, feminine hygiene. It’s a life saver!!
