Blend your unsalted butter in a mixer with powdered sugar and salt until you’ve achieved a smooth consistency.

Add your flour into the bowl, mixing until it’s fully combined with the rest of the ingredients.

Remove dough from the bowl and roll it out into a tight log using your hands.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes until it’s firm.

Slice your dough into ¼-inch thick slices, roll the edges in coarse sugar, and then add any sprinkles that you’d like before baking in the oven for up to 20 minutes.

Check for golden edges to know when these cookies are good to go.

What types of sprinkles should I add to these cookies?

While you can use any sprinkles you’d like, holiday-themed sprinkles are a great choice. You can use jimmies or thin sprinkles in shades of red and green to go along with the Christmas theme. If you don’t want to use sprinkles and would rather keep things simple, you don’t need to add them to your cookie dough.

1 cup unsalted butter. Softened 3/4 cup confectioners sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp salt 2 1/2 cup AP flour 1/4 cup course sugar or sprinkles

How do I store the cookies to keep them fresh?

After allowing the cookies to cool down from the oven, you can remove them from the baking pan and place them in a food storage container with an airtight lid, using parchment paper to keep the cookies from sticking to one another. If you have a cookie jar, feel free to use it to store these cookies and keep them fresh.
