What You’ll Need to Make the Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi
When you want to make the Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi, be sure to have the following ingredients:
- Garlic. Grab your garlic cloves and mince them into small pieces.
- White Onion. Chop your white onion into small pieces to go with your garlic.
- Shrimp. Use frozen deveined shrimp that you can easily peel before preparing.
- Chicken Stock. Bring more flavor to the dish using chicken stock.
- Lemon. Squeeze one whole lemon to add a bit of zestiness.
- Fettuccine Noodles. Use any brand of fettuccine noodles that you would like and break them in half.
You’re also going to need butter, olive oil, water, salt, parsley, and red pepper flakes.
Can I Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil?
You can use extra virgin olive oil or traditional olive oil. It does not matter which one you choose, just as long as you have the olive oil available to use.
Can I Use Margarine Instead of Butter?
If you don’t use butter, you can use margarine as a substitute. It’ll have a slightly different taste than the butter would, but it will still taste great when combined with the shrimp, olive oil, garlic, and various seasonings.
Do I Have to Use Fresh Garlic?
It’s best to use fresh garlic for this recipe. If you don’t have garlic cloves, you can use minced garlic from a jar. However, if you want your Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi to taste as fresh as possible, consider buying garlic cloves in advance to use in this recipe.
Which Size Shrimp Should I Use?
You can use any size shrimp that you prefer. Remember, the shrimp will shrink a bit while cooking them, so it’s a good idea to use large or jumbo shrimp. If you prefer smaller shrimp, it’s fine to use them, too.
How Long Does It Take to Make the Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi?
It won’t take long for you to make the Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi. You’ll need about 10 minutes to prep your ingredients and another 15 minutes to cook everything together using your Instant Pot. You’ll have a full meal ready to eat in about 30 minutes.
What Should I Serve With the Shrimp Scampi?
You can serve your Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi with a side salad and garlic bread. You can prepare the garlic bread at home using French bread, butter, minced garlic, and parsley flakes. Let your garlic bread bake in the oven while you work on preparing the scampi in your Instant Pot.

Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi
Prepare the perfect dinner with ease using this Instant Pot Shrimp Scampi recipe. Serve it over fettuccine noodles and a side salad to complete the meal.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup white onion, diced
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 lb. frozen, peeled shrimp, deveined
- 12 oz fettuccine noodles, broken in half
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 whole fresh lemon, squeezed
- 1 pinch sea salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley
Instructions
- Turn your instant pot on sauté mode. Once it is hot, add to your pot the butter, olive oil, garlic, and white onion.
- Stir occasionally until your butter has melted, and your onion has softened. This should take about 3 minutes.
- Add to your pot your frozen shrimp. Stir well allowing the shrimp to cook, as well as taking the flavors of the other ingredients in the pot.
- Once your shrimp has cooked, remove the shrimp from the bowl. Set aside.
- Add to the pot your chicken stock, water, juice from the lemon, and noodles. Mix well to prevent the noodles from sticking together.
- Place the Instant Pot lid on and close the seal. Set your Instant Pot to high pressure for 6 minutes.
- Once your Instant Pot is done, manually release by using a towel or hot pad to open the seal. You do this by bringing the valve toward you.
- Once the steam has completely released, open your Instant Pot. Add in your shrimp to the pot and noodles. Mix well.
- You can enjoy this dish as is, or you can top with more lemon juice, fresh parsley, salt or pepper to taste, and/or parmesan cheese! Enjoy!
