Hi everybody! Oh boy have I got a fun Disney craft for you! {I’m writing this in my best Mickey Mouse voice}. Ok, that was corny, but I am fresh off my #DisneySide at Home Celebration and I wanted to share with your one of the fun crafts my guests got to make. These Mickey Mouse Washer Necklaces are easy, inexpensive and a really cool way to rock your #DisneySide. Plus, they’re fun and we are all about fun over here at How Does Your Garden Grow?, right!
Here are the supplies needed to create the magical Mickey Mouse Washer Necklaces.
One 3/8-Inch, Zinc Flat Washer, 10-Pack (you will need one)
Two – 1/4 Inch Zinc Flat Washers (you will need two)
20 Gauge Craft Wire, any color desired
18″ Leather Necklace Cords with Lobster Clasps
Public Service Announcement:
Before you start anything, PLEASE cover you work area with newspaper to protect it from all the fun you are going to have creating!
Now, paint the two smaller 1/4″ washers with the black nail polish. These will Mickey’s ears. Allow to dry and apply one more coat.
This is where you can get creative. I painted the larger washer red but you can use any bright color you desire. I just went with the basics here – Red for Mickey and Pink for Minnie. I applied two coats and allowed the washer to dry completely between each coat.
At this point, you can start gluing the painted washers together. Just dab a bit of glue to the top right and left side of the large washer. Place a small washer (the one you planted black) on each side to form Mickey’s ears. This step took the longest because the paint needs some time to dry.
Once your painted Mickey Mouse Washer is dry, you can wrap some wire around the inside of ear year to add more detail. Then, simply attach a cord or necklace and you are all set to proudly show your #DisneySide.
How fun are these! This is a perfect craft for a group of teens or adults. Working with glue can be tricky so I would not let younger kids try this. These necklaces are perfect for everyday wear and especially when your are off having lots of family fun at the Disney Parks.

Love how simple yet cute this is! I’ve seen people make these as gifts to exchange on the cruise line as well. Thanks for linking up for #MagicalMonday and I hope you’ll come back each week!
Nail polish or acrylic paint? Was there a specific reason to use nail polish?
