Ahhhhh….the teenage years. They can be challenging. But we have always felt the importance of a fun family vacation, even well into their teenage years. In our family, our vacations through the years usually centered around Walt Disney World.
I can honestly say it has been really neat to see how our kids have enjoyed Walt Disney World during each stage of their youth. It’s neat to experience the parks at different ages.
And also pretty cool that Gabby and AJ still want to hang with us too when we vacation there.

Disney vacations are the definition of family entertainment. Each theme park is created with family in mind. Each park emphasizes the importance of a specific type of entertainment and may skew toward a particular age group more than the others. That said, you will find plenty of things for kids, adults, and teens to do. Here are a few of the reasons Why Teens Will Love Walt Disney World.
Why Teens Will Love Walt Disney World: Here are my best tips for visiting Disney World With Teens!
Typhoon Lagoon
There are two water parks in Walt Disney World. Both are great for all ages, but for teens, I highly recommend Typhoon Lagoon. They can take a five-story plunge in the dark on Humonga Cowabunga, or zip along the Crush N’ Gusher water coaster. Encircling the mountain full of thrills and spills is a scenic lazy river to balance out the fun. Typhoon Lagoon is good clean fun for everyone, especially teens.
Teen centered attractions
Since the late 80’s Disney has consciously worked to Imagineer attractions that will attract teens. The Magic Kingdom is still a draw for the general audience, but Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom all have outstanding teen-focused attractions like Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror and Mission Space.
Whether playing to nostalgia or epic thrills, teens are covered with Star Wars and Avatar-themed experiences, as well as interactive thrills like designing and testing your own car at Test Track and launching into space in Mission Space.
Disney Springs
Disney Springs is the ultimate hangout and it is now much more teen-friendly. There’s a ton of shopping, street food, pop art and live bands. Teens can easily pass hours in the three distinct areas. They’ll especially like the Coca-Cola Store, AMC Theaters, and Splitsville.
Epcot World Showcase
There is a lot more to the World Showcase at Epcot than just drinking around the world. It’s a unique and exclusive multicultural experience that most kids aren’t ready for without the aid of Kidcot, or interactive scavenger hunts. The World Showcase is much better suited to teens and young adults, particularly if it is their first and only experience involving other cultures.
Each pavilion is detailed and warrants close attention and even follow-up research. The Cast Members in each pavilion are from that country and happy to share their culture
