As pet owners, we all want what is best for our fur babies. They are just as much a part of our family as our spouses, kids and significant others. Our 10-year-old miniature schnauzer, Duchess, pretty much rules the roost in our home. As her name implies, she is treated like royalty (and she expects it too.)

Xfinity Home Pet FilterDuchess is our constant companion, watchdog (schnauzers are known to be barkers – and boy does she like to bark), playmate and best friend. She has created some pretty funny family memories as our “third child”. For instance, she once jumped on the counter and ate a whole tray of Christmas cookies while we were not looking. I kid you not! Then there was the time she dragged toilet paper all through our home. Yep– she “TP’d” our house!  As you can see, she has a fun and frisky personality – something schnauzers are known for.

Ensuring our pet’s safety is much easier when we are all home together. But what happens to them when we have to leave our home to go to work or run errands as most people do? Thankfully Xfinity Home has a new pet filter feature that you can access directly from the Xfinity Home app on your phone.

Ensuring our pet’s safety is much easier when we are all home together. But what happens to them when we have to leave our home to go to work or run errands, like most people do? Thankfully Xfinity Home has a new pet filter feature that you can access directly from the Xfinity Home app on your phone.

So yes, we can get an important glimpse at the not so secret lives of our pets.

With the Xfinity Camera pet filter feature, in addition to being able to view live stream footage directly from your mobile device, you can now filter the footage by pets, people or vehicles. The feature is available for customers who opt-in for continuous video recording, which provides access to 10 days of video history.

This valuable feature is great if you have a dog walker or caretaker who comes to your home. It’s easy to review previous footage if an incident took place.

Another benefit is that you can ensure your pet is safe and sound. Duchess has diabetes. And while her condition is under control, it gives me peace of mind knowing that I can check in on her while we are away from home.

If an emergency does arise, like a fire or break-in, Xfinity Home provides standard 24/7 professional home monitoring with cellular backup and includes the ability to alert authorities and arm or disarm your system remotely. If your pet needs to be rescued or helped, the fast response time can make all the difference.

The Xfinity Home Pet Filter is also great for making sure your furry friend is not causing any unnecessary havoc in the home – like jumping on counters to eat cookies or dragging toilet paper throughout the home. Ahem, I am talking to you, Duchess.
