Well friends, I am officially fried. I have decked the halls, baked a ton of cookies, shopped until I dropped and ended up with a horrible case of bronchitis coupled with a sinus infection. Way to ring in the week before Christmas. But no rest for the weary, although I was in bed for two days.

I wanted to share with you a few last-minute recipes before I settle down to enjoy the family and this wonderful holiday season. These Christmas Tree Cupcakes are an easy Christmas dessert that your family and guests will totally enjoy.

I love festive desserts and cute food ideas. These creative Christmas cupcakes are topped with chocolate pretzel trees sprinkled with sprinkles. They look fancy and elegant but trust me, the are so easy to make.

  • Matching the color of the icing to candy melts can be difficult. For this recipe, I used Ghirardelli white chocolate melts for the trees.
  • Apply the frosting in a thin layer so that the pretzel can reach the cupcake. If there is too much frosting, the tree will likely tip backwards.
  • These are best consumed within 48 hours, we found the pretzels got a little stale on day 3.
  • Have fun with colors! These trees also look great in classic green!
