Stamped Burlap Heart Art
Celebrate the season of love with this easy to make Stamped Burlap Heart Art.
It’s the season of love. February is such a special time in our house. It’s the time of year when I not only get to celebrate Valentine’s Day and my wedding anniversary too (#24 this year!). These two special events are celebrated within a day of each other. Although my kids are older now, and homemade Valentine’s are a thing of the past (sniff..sniff..), I still love this holiday and everything it stands for…the hearts, the cards, the candy and yes, even the cute red and pink decorations.
Burlap has so many useful purposes….it’s not just for three-legged races you know. I love the cute ribbon you can find at the craft store. There are endless possibilities of burlap crafts. Today, I am going to show you how simple it is to create this Stamped Burlap Heart Art. Simple, as in like a 5-year-old could create it. Yep, this is a perfect craft for young and old.
To get started, you will need the following:
5″ x 5″ Piece of Burlap
5″ x 5″ Picture Frame
Heart Stencil (about 3 1/2 inches high)
Pencil with an eraser
Begin by cutting out a piece of burlap to fit your frame. Trace your heart stencil onto a piece of the freezer paper and iron the shiny side to the burlap. Now, use the pencil eraser and start stamping the red and pink paint around the outside perimeter of the heart. This is where your creative license comes in. You can make the stamped portion as thick or thin as you like. Let the paint dry and then pop your piece of art into the frame. Display for all the world to see.
…..and it is as simple as that! This Stamped Burlap Heart Art wins my heart! It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day craft for kids of all ages.
