How to Make Bang Bang Shrimp
Bang Bang Shrimp Ingredients
- Large deveined shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Cornstarch
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper
- Mayonnaise
- Sweet Thai chili sauce
- Rice vinegar
- Sriracha hot sauce
- Sugar
Kitchen Essentials Needed
- Deep pan or large skillet
- Whisk
- Mixing Bowls (small bowl and medium bowl)
- Cutting board
- Knife
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- To check if the oil is hot enough for frying, drop a small piece of bread or a single shrimp into the oil. If it sizzles and browns within 2-3 minutes, the oil is ready for the rest of the shrimp.
- Fry the shrimp in the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. This ensures each shrimp gets evenly crispy.
- After frying, place the shrimp on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to absorb excess oil. This keeps them crispy rather than soggy.
- Don’t forget the garnishes! Sliced green onions and diced tomatoes add freshness and color to the dish.
