Easter Cheese Ball Tips & Tricks
- When forming the cheeseball into a carrot shape, use a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap to help mold it and prevent sticking. You can smooth the parchment around the cheeseball as you shape it.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature. It is so much easier to mix the cream cheese mixture together in a mixing bowl when the cheese is softened.
- For best taste, I prefer freshly shredded cheese, but you can certainly use finely shredded cheese in a package. Don’t forget to reserve a cup of the cheddar cheese to coat the outside of this delicious cheese ball.
- Let the carrot cheeseball chill thoroughly before serving – at least 2 hours. This allows it to firm up nicely for easy dipping.
- Freshen up the cheeseball’s appearance just before serving by pressing on some additional shredded cheddar cheese to cover any bare spots.
- Serve with a variety of dippers like carrot sticks, celery, cucumber slices, breadsticks, pita chips or crackers for contrasting flavors and textures.
- For a fun presentation, place the carrot shaped cheeseball on a bed of fresh greens or arrange veggie pieces around it to look like carrot tops.
- I like to use a bunch of parsley for the top of the carrot. Another alternative is to use scallion tops.
This delicious cheeseball is the perfect addition to your Easter party. Whether you serve it on Easter Sunday or Easter brunch, this easy peasy recipe is a great party appetizer.
