That post prompted this fun teal pumpkin Halloween craft. The Teal Pumpkin Project is a great way to let trick-or-treaters know that your house is allergy-friendly. Putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep means you have non-food treats available, such as glow sticks or small toys. This simple act promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions.
This craft is pretty inexpensive to make. I did buy the teal craft pumpkinbut literally raided my craft closet for the other Halloween embellishments. If you can’t find a teal pumpkin, you can paint one. Either way works!
Here is how to make a Teal Pumpkin Treat Holder for Halloween
Teal Pumpkin Treat Holder Craft Supplies
Halloween Balls & Embellishments
Step 1:
Cut the top off of the pumpkin. The hole should be big enough so kids can fit their hands inside to pull out a treat.
Step 2:
Use the glue gun to glue the crinkle paper around the outside of the hole. Keep gluing so the perimeter is full.
The pumpkin should look like this when you are finished.
Step 3:
Now, start adding your Halloween balls and embellishments around the perimeter. Easy peasy!
Step 4:
Add some fun non-candy Halloween treats to the center.
