Let’s face it, parenting is the most rewarding yet challenging job on the planet. No matter what, we all want what is best for our children. Keeping them safe and healthy is priority number one. The Virtua Hospitals and Wellness Centers have partnered with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to bring high-quality pediatric care to the residents of South Jersey and the surrounding areas. Luckily for my family, both CHOP at Virtua locations in Voorhees, NJ and Mount Holly, NJ are right in my backyard, giving me peace of mind knowing that world-class pediatric care is just a short drive away if needed.
The caring and knowledgeable team of doctors and nurses at CHOP at Virtua provide top-notch care when needed. As a parent, we never want see our child in an emergency situation or needing specialized medical care. But if for some reason we are faced with one, the medical staff at CHOP at Virtua is there to not only provide world-class pediatric healthcare needed to treat our child, but to also ease our mind and answer questions regarding the care and treatment of our child. It’s a great service that we can bring our children to Virtua in Voorhees or Mount Holly and see a CHOP doctor in a variety of different medical departments.
We are fortunate that we have not had to visit CHOP at Virtua very often for either of our children. Both Gabrielle and AJ had frequent ear infections growing up. I specifically remember taking my youngest, AJ, to the CHOP at Virtua Voorhees Pediatric Emergency Room for an extremely painful ear infection that started over a long holiday weekend. From the minute we walked through the doors, the healthcare team was on top of the situation. From triage to discharge, my son received excellent care from the staff that treated him. That, my friends, is why I will always recommend CHOP at Virtua to family and friends.
Here are a few of the benefits of visiting CHOP at Virtua:
•Services include: emergency care, in-hospital care, intensive care for newborns and kids, sleep medicine, imaging/radiology including sedation when needed.
•CHOP doctors also interpret diagnostic test in cardiology, neurology and radiology.
•CHOP also provides teleneurology support in Virtua’s emergency departments.
•CHOP’s Specialty Care Center is located at the Virtua Voorhees Health and Wellness Center.
•CHOP at Virtua in Voorhees has a Level III NICU or neonatal intensive care unit. CHOP At Virtua Memorial, has Level II intensive care unit called the “Special Care Nursery.”
