I never met an Oreo cookie I didn’t like. Don’t you agree? Oreos are the pinnacle of my childhood. It was the one cookie that I would beg my mom to buy. If I was lucky, she would treat me with a few in my lunch box every now and then.
The keyword here is “if”. But most times, I was lucky and would be so happy when I opened up my lunch box to find a few Oreo Cookies staring me in the face. It was always a challenge to see if I could twist them apart without breaking the cookie and then licking icing out of the center.
Fall is here and Halloween is right around the corner. I can never get enough of all the cute and spooky Halloween treats. These Pumpkin Oreos are a super cute and super fun idea to make for a fall gathering or Halloween party for the kids, friends and family. Technically, you can even make them right up until Thanksgiving since the design is a basic pumpkin.
Here is how I made this Oreo Pumpkin Patch.
Pumpkin Oreos Recipe Tips and Instructions
Tip 1:
Melt the orange candy melts in a double boiler or in the microwave for one minute at a time until melted.
*If you can’t find colored melts (which you should be able to because the are readily available), create your own color using a base white melting chocolate and blending in a tiny amount of gel coloring (must be specific gel coloring for
melting chocolates).
Tip 2:
When the chocolate is melted, spoon orange into the bottom of each Oreo candy mold until filled halfway. Add the oreo and push down lightly. Fill orange chocolate around the cookie until completely covered. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Tip 3:
Use a toothpick dipped in green to create leaves in the center of the Oreo candy. Add a dollop in the center of the leaves and “glue” a pecan piece to it for the stem. Finish by using the toothpick and green melted chocolate to form vines.
