Sesame Beef Stir Fry
Skip take out and make your own Chinese recipe at home. Sesame Beef Stir Fry. is easy to prepare and has the perfect taste, sure to keep you coming back for more. Try this easy dinner recipe for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Sesame Seeds, to taste
- 2 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 lb. flank steak
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce, to taste
- 2 cups snap peas, chopped (can also use snow peas instead)
- 1 sweet bell pepper, chopped
- 2 green onions, diced
- 2 cloves, garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons Lime Juice, to taste
Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sesame seeds to the hot pan. Stir often for 3-4 minutes until lightly golden. Remove to a small bowl and wipe skillet clean.
- Place the skillet back over medium heat and place 1 teaspoon of oil in the skillet.
- Use a paper towel to pat your steaks dry. Slice steak into thin strips.
- Season steaks with the chili powder and garlic powder.
- Once the oil is hot, place the steaks in the skillet and sear well on one side, about 4-5 minutes.
- Flip the steaks and continue to cook until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the pan and into a bowl. Place tinfoil over top to keep hot.
- Add sesame oil and soy sauce to the skillet. Bring mixture to a simmer and reduce by half. Toss the steak in the sauce.
- Remove the steak and sauce to a small bowl. Add the remaining teaspoon of oil to the skillet.
- Once hot, add the chopped veggies. Stir occasionally and cook until lightly charred, about 5 minutes.
- Place a separate skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the sesame seeds and add the steak and sauce back to the skillet and toss to combine all ingredients.
- Season to taste with lime juice and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
Notes
I like to also add sweet red peppers to this recipe as well. Slice them like the green bell peppers and sautee with the other vegetables.
